Buddy, founded World Wind Services (WWS) with the intention of securing contracts to service and maintain wind farms for site owners. What he didn’t plan on was scratching the service of an industry whose demand for qualified wind technicians was growing faster than what was being produced.

Buddy’s vision has expanded beyond the standard operations & maintenance company that he had originally established. While speaking with his customers and learning what their true needs and desires are, the direction for his business has changed its course. His impression is that customers are becoming concerned about the individual technicians that will be working at their wind farms, on their turbines and with their employees. The new focus of WWS will be to provide their customers with a list of resumes of technicians with varying experience based on the customer’s need for the specific job at hand. Customers will be able to hand select the team that will be working on their site.

“Our primary aim is to meet the demand of the industry and provide quality service to our customers. I’m not one to try to reinvent the wheel, but I felt this need staring me in the face and thought, why not. The need is there, it’s not being met, and what can I do to change that?”

Growing up in Tehachapi, California, Nikki was surrounded by the Wind Industry. Tehachapi can arguably be considered the birth place of wind in the North America, and growing up within the community; it becomes part of your heritage. In her professional career, Nikki is the driving force, as Owner and President of World Wind Services, the sales for the company have grown by 200% each year, and some of WWS’s clients include GE, Shell, Vestas, RMT, and ENSA.

Nikki has managed to create new relationships, develop a new company infrastructure, manage projects, and crews, while maintaining customer relations to ensure expectations are exceeded. In 2008, Nikki was nominated to be on the Board of Directors for The Wind Energy Center in 2008. She is currently serving as the President. Nikki has a passion to be at the forefront of the growing industry, as well as preserve its heritage and its perception by the public. Nikki knows that reputation is based on integrity, and this is evident in her personality and perspective on business.

Nikki was one of the nominees for the 2009 Rising Star Award for the Women of Wind Energy Association. Nominees for this award have demonstrated above and beyond, the characteristics which contribute to suchdriven consummate professionals. Nikki’s dedication, professionalism, creativity, and commitment, are all contributing factors to her successes in the industry and enable her to provide the most to WWS’s clients, as well as solicit the best from her team. She has a humble heart and an entrepreneurial spirit. These traits combined with her knowledge, background, and heritage make her an excellent addition this industry.
